Genta Breeding Studies are Effective and Efficient!
The research station which is fully owned by our company, is located in Gaziler village in Antalya. As of 2014, Genta research station is located on 75 decares of usable area. In addition, the station has a central administration building, laboratories, seed washing/drying building, warehouses and worker/guard houses.
Genta Research Station cooperates with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), other universities and R&D institutions in order to create seed varieties adapted to the conditions of specialized growers, effective in all conditions and meeting the requirements of the market.

As a Genta, we conduct our breeding activities with conventional methods. However, we are aware that breeding programs cannot be successful without the use of biotechnology methods. Our company supports its knowledge and skills by using modern, state-of-the-art technologies; we breed not only for today but also for the future.
The main biotechnological methods used in plant breeding are;
- Molecular diagnosis", which allows us to determine the characteristics of the plant through its genome,
- Tissue culture", which allows the production or reproduction of plants in an artificial environment,
- Pathology", which is a way to determine the characteristics of resistance to diseases, and
- Gene transfer "Transgenesis".
As GENTA, none of our products contain GMOs. We do not conduct studies related to this method in our research. In our breeding programs, we use all other biotechnology methods, except transgenesis. All the lines we use are selected based on the results of molecular marker analyses and their resistance to certain diseases is measured by pathological tests. Thanks to tissue culture, we can reduce to 2 years the studies that would take about 6 years with conventional methods. This is why Genta brand seeds are the result of careful, attentive and expert work.
